Follow-ups after your procedure

Quick answer

HealAssist sends you a check-in on day 1, day 7 and day 30 after your procedure, asking about your pain, any complications, and your medication. A worrying answer raises an alert for the care team. In an emergency, do not use the form — call 112, or 108 for an ambulance.

The days after a procedure are the ones where people are most alone with their worry. HealAssist checks in three times — on the first day, after a week, and after a month — so that a problem has somewhere to go before it grows.

How does a HealAssist check-in work?

  1. HealAssist sends you the check-in

You get a message on day 1, day 7 and day 30 after your procedure, with a link that opens the check-in for that case.

  2. You answer three questions

How bad your pain is right now, from 0 to 10. Whether you have had any complications — and if you have, what happened, in your own words. And whether you are taking your medication as prescribed.

  3. A concerning answer reaches a human

If you report pain of 7 or more, a complication, or something HealAssist reads as a red flag, your answer raises an alert for the care team rather than sitting in a database.

Where do I find my check-in?

Open the case in your HealAssist account and follow the wellness check link on it. You can answer a check-in at any time, and you can see the answers you have already given — the questions are the same each time, which is what makes them worth comparing week to week.

What does HealAssist do with my answers?

A healthy answer is recorded and nothing else happens — that is the point of a check-in that most people pass. An answer that shows serious pain or a complication raises a task for the HealAssist care team, and a repeat or a red-flag answer escalates it so a coordinator is paged rather than merely notified.

What a check-in cannot do is examine you. It routes your words to a person; it does not read your wound.
