Why We Built HealAssist
It started with a heartbreak.
A young boy walked into a hospital one day. His father had passed away from cancer. The reason? His father was being treated by a general physician instead of an oncologist. The diagnosis was delayed. The treatment was wrong. The costs were overwhelming and completely opaque – he had no way to compare prices or find the right specialist.
Out of desperation and pain, this boy decided to donate his father's oxygen concentrator to help other patients. That single act of compassion sparked an idea.
If this boy's father had known about his options. If the pricing was transparent. If he could have compared hospitals and found the right oncologist. If he could have gotten a second opinion. He might still be alive.
This is why HealAssist exists.
OUR BUSINESS MODEL
For-Profit Company With a Patient Mission
HealAssist is a for-profit company. We operate by providing services to hospital partners – not by extracting money from patients.
We charge hospitals for:
•Marketing and patient outreach services
•Platform access and lead management
•Patient facilitation services
•Partnership support and analytics
We do NOT charge patients for:
•Hospital exploration and comparison
•Blood donation coordination
•Any patient-facing service
Our business model aligns patient interests with business success. When patients get better healthcare outcomes and find better-matched hospitals, they're satisfied. When hospitals serve better patients who are well-matched to their services, they're satisfied. Everyone benefits.
We're profitable by helping both patients and hospitals succeed – not by exploiting either.
