How payments work on HealAssist
Last reviewed
हिन्दी में पढ़ेंQuick answer
Through HealAssist you typically pay a consultation fee at booking — the doctor’s own fee, passed to the hospital in full — or a voucher you buy. Treatment costs are paid to the hospital. HealAssist charges no fee of its own, every successful payment gets a receipt, and wallet credit applies only if you switch it on.
Money on HealAssist is simpler than it looks: the payments you make through HealAssist are small and specific, the big money — your treatment — goes to the hospital, and HealAssist itself charges you nothing.
What is paid where?
| Payment | Who receives it |
|---|---|
| Consultation fee at booking | The doctor’s own fee for that hospital. You pay it through HealAssist, and HealAssist records the full amount as owed to the hospital — none of it is HealAssist’s. |
| A voucher or offer you buy | Paid to HealAssist, which issues your HealAssist VoucherInstance in return. What the voucher covers is redeemed at the hospital as a service. |
| Your treatment or procedure | Paid to the hospital, on the hospital’s own bill. HealAssist quotes and coordinates it but the money is not collected by HealAssist. |
| HealAssist’s own services | Nothing. There is no platform fee, service fee or booking fee for patients. |
How does the booking payment actually happen?
When you book a consultation, HealAssist’s server looks up the doctor’s fee for that hospital and creates the payment for exactly that amount. The number on your screen is the number the server resolved — a page that has been tampered with cannot change what is charged.
You pay through the Razorpay checkout: UPI, cards, netbanking and other options, with exactly what is available shown at checkout. If the doctor’s consultation is free, there is no payment step at all.
If you hold HealAssist wallet credit, checkout offers a toggle to apply it. The toggle starts off — credit is never taken silently. Switch it on and the credit covers its share, with any remainder paid through the gateway.
