What is a credit note, and why is one in my receipts?

Quick answer

A credit note is the receipt for a refund — HealAssist’s record that an amount has been returned to you. It sits in your ordinary receipts list, marked as a refund of the original receipt, and has its own PDF you can download.

A receipt records money you paid. A credit note records money HealAssist returned. It is the same kind of document, pointing the other way.

Where to find your credit note

In your ordinary HealAssist receipts list, under Account. It is not on a separate screen. You will see it alongside your receipts, with a minus sign and the amount in red, labelled as a refund of the original receipt it relates to.

Open it and you can download it as a PDF, the same as any receipt. The PDF is titled Credit Note and shows the total refunded.

When does a credit note appear?

Usually on its own, once a refund has gone through — HealAssist issues it automatically. HealAssist support can also issue one directly when an amount needs to be credited back to you outside the ordinary refund flow.
