When is my appointment slot held?

हिन्दी में पढ़ेंQuick answer
From the moment you submit the patient details, yes — HealAssist holds the slot for ten minutes, which covers the payment step. It is not held while you are still typing in the form, so do not leave that half-finished. If the hold runs out before you pay, the slot becomes available again.
It is a fair worry: you pick a time, spend two minutes typing in details, and wonder whether someone else is quietly taking the slot out from under you. Here is exactly when HealAssist is protecting it and when it is not.
When your slot is held — and when it is not
The hold starts when you submit the patient details, not when you first pick the time. So while you are still typing in the form, the slot is only selected, not reserved. Once you submit, HealAssist records a hold on it and takes you to payment.
The hold lasts ten minutes, which is time enough to pay without hurrying. Before you pay, HealAssist checks the hold is still live — if it has run out, the booking is refused rather than quietly going through on a slot you no longer have.
What happens if the hold runs out
The slot becomes available again, to you and to everyone else. Nothing is charged and nothing is booked. HealAssist checks the hold before it books, so an expired hold is refused rather than quietly booked — you are never left with a booking that half-exists.
