What does my appointment status mean?

Quick answer

Requested means payment is still due. Held means your slot is secured and the hospital has yet to confirm. Confirmed means the hospital has confirmed it. Completed, cancelled and no-show are how it ended. You can cancel or reschedule; only staff can confirm, complete, or mark a no-show.

Your HealAssist appointment carries a status, and it tells you exactly where the booking stands — whether you still owe money, whether the hospital knows about it, and whether it is over.

The appointment statuses you will see

The appointment statuses you will see
StatusWhat it means
RequestedThe booking exists but the consultation fee has not been paid yet. Nothing is secured until it is.
HeldYour slot is secured — either you have paid, or the doctor charges no consultation fee. The hospital has not confirmed it yet.
ConfirmedThe hospital or HealAssist has confirmed your appointment. This is the state you want to be in before you travel.
CompletedYou were seen. The appointment is done.
CancelledThe appointment was called off — by you, or by the hospital.
No-showThe hospital recorded that you did not attend. Only staff can set this.

What you can change yourself, and what you cannot

You can cancel your appointment while it is requested, held or confirmed. You can also reschedule it — but only to another slot with the same doctor at the same hospital. HealAssist does not let you move yourself to a different doctor; that is a new booking.

What you cannot do is confirm an appointment, complete it, or mark it a no-show. Those three are set by HealAssist or hospital staff, because they are records of what actually happened rather than requests.
