Choosing which messages HealAssist sends you

Go to Account, then Preferences. You can switch offers and promotions on or off for SMS, email and WhatsApp separately. Booking and payment messages cannot be switched off for SMS and email — but WhatsApp booking updates can be.
HealAssist sends two very different kinds of message, and you have different control over each. Booking and payment messages tell you what is happening with your care. Offers and promotions are marketing. Your preferences let you shut the second kind off entirely.
What you can and cannot switch off
| Message type | Can you switch it off? |
|---|---|
| Offers and promotions — SMS, email or WhatsApp | Yes, per channel. They are off by default anyway. |
| Booking and payment messages — SMS and email | No. These tell you what is happening with your appointment and your money, so HealAssist always sends them. |
| Booking updates on WhatsApp | Yes — this one you can switch off. Do it and your booking updates stop arriving on WhatsApp, though they still reach you by SMS and email. |
The email settings do nothing without an email address
HealAssist signs you up with your mobile number, and an email address is optional. If you have never given HealAssist one, the email settings on this screen will save when you change them but no email will ever be sent, because there is no address to send it to. There is no self-service way to add an email address to your account — if you want emails, contact HealAssist support.
