Preparing for your hospital visit

Open your booking in your HealAssist account and check the hospital, the doctor and the time. Ask your HealAssistant what this hospital needs you to bring — requirements differ by hospital, so there is no single list. If you are asked for a registration fee that was not in your quote, HealAssist covers it.
Most of what goes wrong on the day is decided the night before. Ten minutes of checking is what stands between you and a wasted trip.
What should I check before I go?
Open your booking
Go to My bookings and read it back: the right hospital, the right doctor, the right day and time. If it is wrong, reschedule or cancel from the same screen while you still can.
Ask your HealAssistant what to bring
What a hospital needs from you differs by hospital, and by whether you are on an insurance, a scheme or a cash path. Your HealAssistant knows which one you are on and can tell you what this hospital will ask for — ask them rather than guessing.
Keep your quote with you
Whatever you were quoted is what you should expect to be charged. Have it to hand — on your phone is enough — so that a surprise at the desk is a surprise you can point at.
What does HealAssist do before you arrive?
HealAssist coordinates the admission with the hospital — that is the work your HealAssistant is doing between your booking and your arrival. It is also why they are the right person to ask what the hospital will want from you: they are the ones talking to it.
