Check if your insurance covers a procedure

Sign in to HealAssist, open a coverage check, and give us the procedure plus your insurer, TPA or government scheme. Attach your policy or scheme card if you have it. HealAssist responds within 48 hours. Your recent coverage checks and their status appear in your HealAssist account.
A HealAssist coverage check asks a human to confirm whether your policy or government scheme actually pays for a specific procedure. It is not an automated lookup: a HealAssist team member reads your policy details and comes back to you.
How to submit a coverage check
Sign in to your HealAssist account
A coverage check is tied to your account, so you must be signed in to submit one — and to attach any document to it. If you are signed out, HealAssist will ask you to sign in first.
Choose the procedure or describe the condition
Every coverage check needs either a specific procedure or the condition you are being treated for. Without one of the two, the request cannot be submitted.
Pick your insurer, TPA or government scheme
A coverage check covers a private insurer, an insurer together with its TPA, a TPA on its own, or a government scheme. A government scheme cannot be combined with private insurance or a TPA on the same request — submit a separate check for that.
Add your member ID and any documents
Your member, policy or scheme card number is optional, but adding it gives the team more to work with. Attach your policy document, scheme card or prescription here too — the form takes your documents when you submit, so include what you have.
Give consent and submit
You confirm that HealAssist may use these details to check your coverage with the insurer or scheme. HealAssist responds within 48 hours.
Where do I see the result of my coverage check?
Your recent coverage checks are listed in your HealAssist account with their current status. HealAssist may also message you when there is an update, but that list is where you can always check for yourself.
What each coverage-check status means
| Status | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Submitted | HealAssist has your request and the 48-hour clock has started. |
| Under review | A HealAssist team member is checking your coverage with the insurer or scheme. |
| More info needed | HealAssist needs something else from you — usually a document or a policy number. Your HealAssistant will tell you what is needed. |
| Eligible | Your coverage was confirmed for this procedure. |
| Not eligible | Your coverage was not confirmed. The app does not show the reason — contact your HealAssistant, who can tell you why and what your options are. |
| Closed | The request is finished. A closed request cannot take new documents. |
What if my coverage check comes back "Not eligible"?
Be aware of one honest limitation: HealAssist does not show you the reason in the app, and a "Not eligible" request will not accept further documents — it is closed. That does not mean you are out of options, but it does mean the next step is a person, not a button.
Contact your HealAssistant. They can tell you why the check failed and help you with whatever fits your case — a different procedure or hospital, a reimbursement route, or a fresh check once you have the missing document. There is no appeal button in the app, so do not wait for one.
