Is HealAssist free for patients?

Yes — HealAssist charges patients no platform fee, no service fee, no subscription and no booking fee, and takes no commission from what you pay. Searching, comparing quotes and your HealAssistant's coordination cost you nothing. HealAssist earns its money from hospitals, not from you.
It is a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a slogan. HealAssist charges you nothing to use — and here is exactly what that does and does not mean.
What does HealAssist charge you?
Nothing. No platform fee, no service fee, no subscription, no booking fee — and no commission or margin taken out of what you pay. Finding hospitals, comparing quotes, and the coordination your HealAssistant does around your admission are not billed to you.
Then what is the fee I pay when I book?
That is the doctor's consultation (OPD) fee — the hospital's own price for seeing you. HealAssist collects it at booking and passes the entire amount to the hospital, keeping none of it. It is adjusted against your consultation when you arrive.
So the money leaves your hands and reaches the hospital in full. HealAssist does not take a slice on the way through.
What can you pay for through HealAssist?
Some things on HealAssist do cost money — such as the consultation fee you pay when you book, and vouchers or offers you choose to buy.
Support around your treatment is a different story. Meals, accommodation, and an ambulance transfer between hospitals, arranged through your HealAssistant, are free to you — HealAssist subsidises them. You are not charged for them and no bill for them reaches you.
None of that is a HealAssist fee for using HealAssist — it is you buying a specific thing. And your treatment costs themselves are paid to the hospital, on the hospital's own bill.
So how does HealAssist make money?
From hospitals, not from patients. HealAssist charges hospitals a coordination fee for the non-medical work it does around a case. That arrangement sits between HealAssist and the hospital — you are never a party to it, and it never appears on anything you pay.
This is also why HealAssist has no margin riding on your quoted package price. That price is final unless your doctors medically require additional intervention — which is always explained to you and consented first. Read about the price-lock.
