Uploading documents for an insurance coverage check

Sign in first, then upload your policy document or insurance card — a PDF or a photo, up to 10 MB. The screen confirms it has been received. When HealAssist decides, a notification lands in your account and takes you to the coverage check.
A coverage check is HealAssist finding out what your insurance will actually pay for your procedure, before you commit to anything. To do it, HealAssist needs to see your policy — usually your policy document or your insurance card.
Sending your document
Sign in
Your mobile number and the one-time code sent to it.
Attach your policy document or insurance card
A PDF, or a photo of it — JPG, PNG or WEBP. Up to 10 MB. A clear phone photo of your insurance card is fine.
Submit, and read the confirmation on the screen
The screen confirms the coverage check has been received. That confirmation is not the answer — it is the acknowledgement. HealAssist also emails it, but only if there is an email address on your account: if you signed up with your mobile number alone, the screen is the only acknowledgement you get, so do not wait for a text that is not coming.
What happens to the document you sent
It is stored privately — it is not published anywhere, it is not part of your public profile, and no link to it works without permission. Only the HealAssist staff member your coverage check is assigned to can open it, apart from oversight staff holding a separate clearance — and every time anyone opens it, that is recorded.
You can see it again. Open Account, then Coverage checks: your recent coverage requests each list the files attached to them. Every file has a Remove button, and a Download button appears once the file has passed its virus check. Removing a file deletes the file itself, for good — HealAssist cannot bring it back — so keep the original on your phone.
You can also add a document to a request that is still open, using Add a document under the same list. That includes the case where HealAssist has come back asking for more information, which is exactly when you are likely to need it. Once the request has been decided or closed, no new file can be attached to it.
