Sub-limits, waiting periods and what HealAssist can tell you

हिन्दी में पढ़ेंQuick answer
For an insurer and a procedure, HealAssist shows whether it is covered, any sub-limit, any waiting period, and the insurer’s conditions. That is the insurer’s published position, not a reading of your policy: your plan, your sum insured and your own waiting periods still decide what you actually get.
"Is it covered?" is rarely a yes or a no. It is usually a yes, up to an amount, after a period, if certain things are true. HealAssist shows you those three qualifications by name.
What each coverage fact means
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Coverage status | Whether the insurer covers this procedure at all under a standard policy. |
| Sub-limit | The most the insurer will pay for this procedure, even if your cover is larger. "No stated cap" means the insurer has published none. |
| Waiting period | How long you must have held the policy before this procedure can be claimed. "None" means none; "Not specified" means the insurer has not published one. |
| Conditions | The insurer’s own caveats — the "if" attached to the yes. |
Why does it say "No stated cap"?
Because the insurer has published no sub-limit for that procedure — not because HealAssist has failed to find one, and not because you are guaranteed unlimited cover. Your overall sum insured is still your ceiling.
The same honesty applies to a waiting period marked "Not specified": it means the insurer has not published one for this procedure, and HealAssist will not invent it.
How do I find out what applies to me?
Run the coverage check with your own insurer and procedure, and speak to your HealAssistant. A sub-limit that binds one patient and not another is exactly the kind of thing worth ten minutes before admission and a shock afterwards.
